Tony Bertrand Water Sports Centre, designed by the Lyon architect Alexandre Audouze-Tabourin and built for Lyon's bid for the 1968 Summer Olympic Games, the Rhône water sports centre, commonly known as „Piscine du Rhône“ (the Rhône swimming pool), is now called the „Tony Bertrand Water Sports Centre“. Tony Bertrand (1912-2018, born Antonin Bertrand) is a French athlete, sports leader and politician. He has held national and international positions as well as important local mandates in the Lyon region.
