Neubau 1, Manfred Aichele und Peter Schenk (1968) | Listed "Neubau 1" of the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, Am Weissenhof, architects Manfred Aichele und Peter Schenk (1968). The State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart is one of the oldest and largest art academies in Germany. It dates back to the Académie des Arts founded on 25 June 1761 by Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg. The "Architektenbau" or "Neubau 1" of the academy opened in 1968 after four years of construction on the Weissenhof campus. In 1972 it was supplemented by the so-called workshop building. In 2018, the 50th anniversary of the flat roof construction with reinforced concrete skeleton and concrete lamella facade was celebrated. Both buildings have recently been listed as cultural monuments in Baden-Württemberg. - Powered by Pictrs.com
